A very sad day in our class history - we lost our big brother and best friend, Bill Frady. Bill left us on December 13th, 2014. We miss him so much and send our heartfelt sympathy to Judy and the family.

Bill was an "anchor" as Bill Cargill described him. He was always there, always willing to do what was needed for the class. He supported Berry Nichols and me totally as we began to put together the 50th year class party. I remember telling the committee one day that I still had to punch holes in the directory books that were about 62 pages thick (I was making 60 books). I was on a deadline and had to get it done. When Bill understood that I was going to do it by hand, he said "You are not doing that! How much does that cost for the printer to do it? I told him and he and Leon Mason said, "We'll pay for it!"  And so they did.  I don't think he ever knew how much that meant to me. Our class had no money but by his example, others started pitching in, including one classmate who donated a large sum so the directory could be finished by the date of the 50th year reunion.

He was one I could call and ask "What do you think?" and what he always said was always what needed to be said. I'll miss you so much, Brother, you were one of a kind and can't be replaced.
It was heartwarming to see how many people (including classmates) showed up at the service for Bill - an example of how many lives Bill had touched in some way.

Rest easy, Bill, you've earned it....

It's time to think about our class party again - this time in the spring. August is just too hot. So now the date is set for May 17th at the Walhalla Depot. I've sent out the SAVE THE DATE cards. We have a committee of 6 and we met yesterday to put together a great party! I'll send out letters soon with all the details - for now just plan on coming and having a good time.

I think I'm going to like having my own little space to write in. Thanks, Mike, for setting me up. Now, whenever we have a class function, I can do notifying from here. It won't get everybody, but we'll make everybody aware of it and then they can always check with someone who has the capability to open the website and check out Judy's Corner and share the news and information. This will make me more likely to check the website for Mike's announcements, too.  September 15th is the next meeting of
www.walhalla.co  contributors and I expect to pick up information to help me post photos. Keep checking back on me - I'll get there.

I loved our reunion! What a great group we had. And a great place - good food, wonderful hosts, good time! Thanks to Daisy who brought us great vegetables, and Sis, who made desserts plus the Class of '59 cake.  I'm already thinking of next year. If I find something good, I'll let everyone know.
A couple of people have sent suggestions. Send them along - I'll check them out.

Those of you who came to the Reunion met Jennifer Pruett, the photographer who took our group picture. Well, if you remember, Daisy was a little under the weather that day, and just had to sit down while she was placing us. Unbeknownst to Jennifer, he was still sitting down when she snapped the final picture and so Daisy wasn't in the picture. Jennifer felt so bad and took full responsibility for not noticing that everyone was not in place. She offered us all a second picture - one with Daisy in it, for free. She sent it to me by email and I sent it out by email to those who were at the reunion and had email. If anybody else would like to have that picture, let me know and I'll send it to you. Jennifer said it was one of the earlier photos and she was concerned it might not be as clear and focused. I printed mine and it looked fine. You can print your own - you can get photo paper at Dollar Tree for $1.00.

I guess the next thing I'll do on this class page is put on the roster for the class. Remember the biography page you did for the directory in 2009? That is what I'll be putting on. I won't list any phone numbers. If you want to edit your page, let me know. (I'm editing mine - Lord, what was I thinking?)
